Since the start of this season like the past seasons, there has only been one guaranteed starter for Manchester United, David De Gea. The Spaniard has been very essential to Manchester United's progress in recent years.
The Red Devils have been experiencing a total transformation since the board brought in Erik Ten Hag to take over the vacant managerial. Ten Hag ensured that he got a balanced team ready to start the campaign early on.

Erik Ten Hag was very particular about his goalkeeping unit and gave David De Gea several assurances that included him loaning out Dean Henderson to reaffirm his promise that the Spaniard remains his number one goalie.
He brought in an able backup for him, Martin Durbravka at the start of the season and replaced him with Jack Butland recently after Newcastle recalled Dubravka. Nonetheless, the addition to the unit has not shaken De Gea except for a new development at the club.
Earlier this week Manchester United decided to introduce a salary cap across the first team with a limit of 200 000 euros per week. This news has hit David De Gea's contract renewal talks with the club as they are trying to enforce a huge pay cut on his new contract offer to extend his stay at the club. De Gea currently earns above 300 000 euros per week.
