With the World Cup entering its latter stages, football across Europe is expected to return quickly to continue the ongoing season that was halted for the duration of the World Cup campaign to give teams and players ample time to rest.
From having about 14 players represent them at the start of the tournament, the number has drastically dropped as the competition progressed with the major of the exiting players expected to return to the club by Monday.
Manchester United noticed something was wrong and Ten Hag took this urgent steps
No matter how long it takes, Ten Hag is determined to wait for him
Manchester United's England trio of Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, and Luke Shaw are all expected back in Carrington next week alongside the Brazilian contingent and the other single players that their national teams recently got eliminated.
Harry Maguire was in fine form for England throughout the campaign, where he played all their game matches till they were eliminated while chipping in an assist along with a number of clean sheets in the process, which saw pundits and fans laud his efforts.
The club captain has found it hard to come across playing minutes under the new manager and would have been hoping his current World Cup form who have convinced Ten Hag to reconsider his decision. But he might not require much effort to start for United in the next game as Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are not finishing the World Cup campaign till the weekend and will both get a week off which means that Ten Hag would have no choice but to start Maguire against Nottingham Forest on December 27th.
